ram mounts are awesome. especially if it is the only unit in your boat. you can turn it to whatever direction you are in the boat (cast/troll)

I second the ram swing arm mount. It’s solid as a rock with lots of adjustability. I mounted one on the bow where it takes a lot of abuse and it’s been worry free for me.
