Posts: 7087 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | WITHOUT causing a fight over past records or anything like that (check Shep's post, I have a VERY ITCHY trigger finger lately for post deletion) where do you think the NEXT WORLD RECORD WILL COME FROM? I listed as many as I could think of for possible contenders, but I'm hungry and a bit tired, so put in your vote if I didn't list it. KEEP IT CLEAN...PPPPPPLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEE

Posts: 335 Location: Orland Park | What about Pike Bay? That's where Jim Schillinger got the 58 1/2" from this summer. If that was caught in October/November, it would have been pretty close.

Posts: 74 Location: MIlton Ontario Canada | G Bay has got to have the best chance. When I say that I mean G bay and its tributaries. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it came out of the French River, Moon River or any of the other major tributaries just beacuse the rivers tend to have a more consistant length factor. All it is going to take is for one of those long river fish to just put on some weight and the WR will be broken. I know of one guy who cuaght 17 legal fish out of G bay last year and one was 58.5 inches 58.5 pounds. The legal limit on G bay is 54. There is a lot of piggys in there. Now if I could only catch one...................

Posts: 1247 Location: On the Niagara River in Buffalo, NY | Three places come into mind when thinking about catching a record musky,The open waters of Lake Ontario around Grenadier Island,The open waters of Lake Huron out the North Arm of the Moon River and the open waters in Lake Erie at the head of the Niagara river. The girth is there for record weight, when one is caught over 58 inches late in November it could be a new record. There are other places that have shown legnths to 60 inches, but the girth is not there to get the fish to record size. Some of those other waters do produce a good number of fish over 55 inches as well, but as they get past that legnth they loose girth. Posts: 177 Location: Germantown & Land O Lakes WI | Slamr...I added to Green Bay by adding Lake Michigan. Didnt mean to step on your toes, but GB is just one of many areas that anglers troll for huge Musky...I've done very very well in Sturgeon Bay. Someone should post the Turtle Flambeau Flowage....big beasts in there too Edited by 52isntbigenough 9/17/2003 11:20 AM

Posts: 5874 | Actually, my vote would be for Green Bay, and one of it's tributaries. However, I was at Cool Waters last month, and I saw a real pig there. She had to go 250-300! Ugh.

Posts: 105 Location: Kawartha Lakes, Ontario | The next world record WILL come from Georgian Bay. The big fish there average a pound per inch or better, and there are lots of them out there. The problem is that there is so much water, so much structure, and so many places to fish that the chances of an angler coming across a giant are slim. But it WILL happen. Did I mention I'm spending some time fishing a little known big muskie magnet this fall on the bay? I will definately be hunting one of those record fish.

Posts: 129 | G-Bay WILL be the place where it comes from, I would guess in the next 2 years it will come. They extended the season this year, maybe this one who knows. I will also be bold enough to say that the fish caught will be WELL over 70 lbs. If you guys could see the hooks we have seen on my x-15 you would crap your pants. But catching them are the problem, I just hope its me and you can all bow to me then lol j/k Musk.
