Location: Hayward, WI | Does anybody know what the handle length from center of handle knob to center of mounting post is on the power handle option?
Also wondering if the general consensus is that these are more or less likely to stand up to ripping heavy rubber and maybe some big bucktails than a HS 60 Beast would be? Been happy with my Beast but have heard good things about the Komodo.

Location: MN | 60 mm according to http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/topic/664346-okuma-komodo-ss...
I was once looking for the same information and I think when I called Okuma they confirmed that - not 100% sure. I've found that companies can often provide those details very quickly if you just call them up, while they can be a PITA to find searching the net. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Thanks for the info. I assume the handle nut is in the center of the handle, which makes 60 mm. Sounds like a good length.
Does anybody have any input on which reel might be better suited for hard use between the Komodo and Beast? I like my Beast, and that it's physically lighter in weight, but the all stainless gearing of the Konodo has me intrigued. |

Location: Aurora | The Komodo's stainless main, pinion, spool shaft, bearings, and slightly larger capacity probably accounts for the extra couple ounces of weight (Beast 13.83oz/Komodo 15.98 oz). Biggest consideration for me is the non-disengaging level wind on the Komodo. Sold off all my disengagers cept fer a handful of bass reels. |

Location: Aurora | Here's the capacity breakdown from their websites too if needed. The Beast capacity is rated using 30lb braid which equates to 8lb mono diameter. Median 8lb mono is approx .26mm. .37mm is the smallest the Komodo's capacity is rated at but I imagine at .26 it would hold slightly more than 285 yds:
Beast 60
285yds/30lb braid
30lb braid = 8lb mono (.26mm)
Komodo 463
0.37mm/265yds
0.42mm/200yds
0.55mm/115yds
