Posts: 841 Location: Southwest PA | That rod looks very nice! Did anyone happen to get their hands on one to scope it out at the show?

Posts: 841 Location: Southwest PA | Thanks bud! I'm very intrigued, I'll have to see if I can find one to check out. The show in my area is always scheduled around the same time I leave town for a work conference...

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Interesting to hear. That would be a good price for a big rubber chucker. Anybody know if they will offer just the blank for sale? I like the sounds of the rod but the 20 inch handle might be too long for me. Being able to extend that blank a little could be pretty neat as well.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | 18 inch handle you say? The article states 20. 18 makes it more appealing. I'd still like to be able to extend the blank out a few inches if they do sell the blanks. Did anyone handle this rod? Is it very heavy or not too bad? Tucker

Posts: 145 | I personally like the longer butts on rods, especially if I am going to be casting 8oz or more. It is nice to see St. Croix putting a longer butt on a rod designed to cast pounders, the 14in butts on their other rods just don't give me the nice lever to perform a good two handed cast. Hopefully, St. Croix makes an XH Mojo Cat with a 20in butt.

Tucker Very heavy but considering it's a Premier and designed for big rubber, it is what it is.
