I do some surf casting in the winter. I'm looking for a high speed reel (hopefully at least 35 IPT) with a clicker. I'd use it for chunking and artificials. I know that Lexas have clickers, but I'd like to get something cheaper. Does anyone have any ideas? A 400- to 500-sized reel would be ideal. Thanks.

Okuma Komoda SS.

Look in Youtube and Tackle Advisors did a review and said that this is the one he'd buy if you needed a clicker. (400A if no clicker needed). Goes over the whole reel.

Cheap, easy to use high speed is the 6500 C4, if you can find them. NOT the 6600 C4. I'm not sure about the IPT. The older 6500 "Trophy Series" are C4s as well. Also, those reels have the clicker.

Good choice on the Komodo. The clicker is loud and durable.

The reels have serious cranking power even in the high gear ratio too; many people don't realize this, but the 450 sized Komodos gave a larger main gear then the Tranx 500s.

I am still looking around for a true power handle to put on these reels, but I have little issue cranking double 10s with the 471SS's.
