JoMusky and I went up to the Big V for the weekend, both of us first timers. We had bought a guide trip from Terry Sjoberg (Ace Guide Service) that he donated to the Muskies Inc. chapter I belong to.

We couldnt get together with Terry on sat so Jo and I hit the big lake ourselves. After moving quite a few, Jo finally got a nice fat 43.5 to go. His first Minn muskie (not first spotted though).

All fish seen were on rocks, didn't contact any in the shallow weedy areas. The water was clearer than normal which made the fish realll spooky, thought I was on Minocqua Lake after a while.
We both got pretty good looks at 2 different 4-footers, but didn't have any fish come close to a turn at the boat or an 8..all turned off real fast.
Sunday morning we met up with Terry and headed out. The fish werent moving as well on Sunday, but got to see 2 more 40"+ on some new spots.Terry showed us a TON of spots, some really good ones too that weren't even on the Hot Spots map.
Terry knows the lake real well and isn't sfraid to give out information, very straight shooter.
We had a good time on the V and after seeing about 13 fish the whole weekend (some the same fish of course), only ONE was under 40"...we will be back!!!

Thx again Terry, see you in the future.

Ohhh, forgot to mention. At one time I had a double follow!!! Way cool to see 2 low-mid 40" fish coming in side by side at the same time.

We swung around that spot again, and that is where one of them bit after it followed again and Jo casted towards where it swam off.

I can't really add anything to Greg's comments except to repeat that Terry is an awesome guy to hire. He is very familiar with the lake, knows his musky fishing, and is a pleasant guy to be in the boat with all day!

Big V is a bit overwelming at first, but the muskies act just like everywhere else, except the average length of the fish is 44"(from a MDNR study).

Hey Guys,
Thank you for the kind words, It was a very enjoyable day for me as
well. You will always be welcome in my boat.

P.S
Hey Greg, we went back to the mid 40's fish off the island today. It
measured 46.5", we got her to take
a manta, it was the same color as that squirko of yours.
