Location: ontario | Does anyone have any experience with the 60hs beast using the full extension on the jigging handle for throwing 10s 12s+ ? Would it make a difference compared to using the counterweighted handle for cranking power ?

Location: ontario | ive heard that but how exactly would it engage during the cast ?

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | The knob weight during cast moves the handle and causes the gear to engage. Curados were really bad at it.

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | Yeah, it's the reason the new revos have counterweighted handles. They were telling people to turn the reel sideways during cast. The 300ej would do it as well and they sell a counter balanced handle, I actually bought at Eva knob for mine to reduce weight. It's the knobs weight during cast flips the bail sorta speak. They were salt jigging reels not made for casting.

Posts: 51 | I have the HS60 and use the jigging handle all the way extended for 10's and 12's. Makes bringing them in incredibly easy. I do want to say that I have had issues discussed above about the reel engaging because of the big knob moving slightly forward during the cast and engaging the reel. It makes a nasty sound. I have done my best to keep the thumb bar pressed down when I cast but it still happens every now and then.
