Does anyone have this rod? Im looking for a comparison to the weight of this rod. I have a Tranx 500 paired with a big nasty and I like the combined weight of this rod and reel combo even though the tranx is 20 ounces. Need to know if the 9'6 shock and awe will be close to the same weight. Can't find a weight on this rod anywhere.

Just purchased a used one in spring and paired it with a 500 tranx. You will not be disappointed bud, I moved the 500 tranx off of my big nasty for this rod and will be keeping the reel on the shock and awe. Beautiful set up, try it and see if you agree!

This is the 9'6 correct? It doesn't feel to heavy with the tranx?

I sold my nasty to get another 9"6" Shock & Awe. I have 2 now with HS beasts on them and I really like them. I don't know how it feels with a tranx on it though....side note, i have one each of the split grip and the full grip. Full grip is much more comfortable to fish with.

Correct, the 9'6". It is heavier than the big nasty/tranx pairing, but not too noticable and nothing that creates a laborious or unenjoyable experience. I absolutely love the combination and was surprised by the rods capabilities. I think that is why I enjoy the combo so much. The capability of each the rod and the reel makes it a very versatile set up that will see a lot of pounders this fall for me.

How does the 9'6" Shock & Awe compare to Tackle Industries' 9'6" or 10' XXH?

I too just got the 9'6" shock and Awe and paired it with a tranx 500HG. Awesome rod for rubber and larger cranks as I like to rip and and pick up slack. got two nice fish on the rod so far, one on the cast and one at boatside. Awesome fights. Great rod. This is my first telescopic as well and so far so good.

Can anyone provide a detailed overview of their experience with the rod? Would you guys use this as a go-to big bucktail rod? Can anyone post some more pictures of it? There isn't much information on the MTO or Chaos Tackle's websites. Thanks!

I love mine. Great for pounders and double 10's. Anything over double 8's or small crank, it is the only thing I use. I too thought it may be overkill and too big, but it's not noticeable enough for me to ever look back. Not to talk bad about TI rods, but it's not close in my eyes..

I got mine at the beginning of this season and love it! Have it paired with a 4.9 Beast and I threw super models with it all last weekend. Also handles my husky medussas and mcrubbers no problem! Awesome rod! You wouldn't be disappointed
