Heading up this weekend to these lakes for the first time. Anybody have any tips or advice for a newbie? PM would be great.

Thank you

Weedbeds around the islands both lakes and the north shore of high are good starts.

Go easy in the channel from the launch ramp on High.
Fishtrap has one of the nicest shore lunch remote camp spots in Northern Wisconsin...straight south of the culvert. On the point.
Also the North basin of Fishtrap is very underrated.
Wittigs point is a nice spot also.

Topwater is great. My dad's pb is on fishtrap in the saddle at dark on a topraider. Caught quite a few on high using a topraider as well.

Yep. But I believe that it's allowed for one night only. We just use them for a lunch break.... or fooling around with the wife. Or both.

There are several on High Lake also, 3 nice ones along the north shore that I know of.
I wonder if the DNR has a map of those, we found them on our own. Look for a small yellow rectangular sign.

Or if it's late October or November, look for a few old guys standin around the fire cookin.
