I just spooled up over 700’ of fresh 40lb mono on my 4 board rods each, not because I need that much now, it's so I can cut and retie for about the next year. Line is cheap and after clipping boards on and off for a while it's a good idea to cut that section off… granted the braid will hold up better than the mono, but cut and re-tie 10 times and how much you have left?
Also, I really like full spools because when the reels are topped off the drags work a little smoother, plus they pick up line faster and easier while bringing in boards and fighting fish. |
