| I am getting a rooster tail from the Helix 10 transducer. The spray is splasing on the top of E-tec. If I raise the transducer any more it will not give a depth reading under full power. Seems to get worse when there is more than 2 people in boat. Any one else experience this, if so what was the solution? |

| What type of speeds are we working with? Solutions include an in hull 2d ducer and a y cable to split the si off of it and mount the si ducer much higher up. |

Location: NE Ohio | got the 10 DI transducer mounted by itself on my lund 1875 impact. i mounted it myself and adjusted it like the manual said and to get it to read at 52 mph the roostertail almost is as tall as my merc 150 4 stroke. i slid it back up during testing and lost bottom at 30 and the roostertail was still giving the 150 quite a bath. i've seen lots of boats traveling on the water and they all have a big rooster off of the transducer. so i'm just living with it. i've you tubed it and those folks say its the water coming from between the horizontal transducer and the vertical bracket that cause it. not true for me. my bracket has a piece of metal that protrudes from the bracket almost to the transducer itself. so i guess your going to have to join the club like me. LOL.

| What transducer is it? If it's the SI transducer is highly suggest getting a standard high speed transducer and Y cable, that will solve all your problems. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I agree with the y cable and a regular high speed transducer. Plus mounting the si transducer protects the expensive si ducer if anything ever hit it. |

It is the SI transducer. Did a lot of searching on internet and I might have found a solution, only problem the deflector is made in Australia. |

Location: NE Ohio | isn't the SI transducer supposed to be mounted up out of the way during hi speed operation? every install i've seen has them mounted out of harms way. you sure don't need to be doing any sounder studying going full speed down the lake. SI is for slow going. |
