| Howie,
I use Microsoft Photo Editor, but any Photo editor should work. Do you have the Microsoft PhotoEditor? It is usually in the Microsoft Office Tools folder when you go to your Programs Menu. If so, let me know, and I will send you destructions for your pics. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Try this:
Open Paint
Open whatever pic you want to downsize
Click "Image" from the tool bar on the top
Click Stretch/Skew
In the Horizontal/Vertical Spaces, go down progressively in number, using the same number for both, as you need to reduce your pic:
ex: 80, 80....then try 50,50
That will progressively reduce the size of the pic. |

| Change the resolution!
If you have photoshop, it's under image / image size.
For my personal use I make the longest dimension 800pixels and make sure it keeps the proportions(spl?) For a jpg file with a lower high-quality setting, this usually gives you an image in the 60-80kb range. For message board posting I usually make the longest dimension 640, which drops it to about 40-60KB range. This can be done without much/any quality loss depending on the original file type. There are also some programs out there that will do automatic image manipulation (such as resizing) You may want to look into something like that if you take a lot of pictures that you want to resize. |
