Here is something I use in heavy cover, timber, and pads with soft plastic tails. Bend the shank of the hook back with two pairs of needle nose pliers, stick the tip of the plastic body to the jig with super glue, and bury the point into the body, The hookset pounds the tip through easily, and the lure is TOTALLY weedless.

I came up with this idea fishing pike and bass in the milfoil.
