Posts: 75 | Thank you! Any idea of their worth? I don't wish to re-sell them. I just don't want to be fishing with some bait that could make a truck payment for me! haha! I am a fisherman, and not a collector, so I most likely will have the one repainted and fish with them. I am just concerned with what I paid vs. the true value of the baits. I also can't find anything on Wolfgang baits that matches this bait. How long ago was it made? The way the paint is chipping off it looks to be an older bait?

Posts: 983 | Id probably replace the hooks and rings on the baits b4 I fished them...I wouldnt also think about trying to strengthen then lips on the baits that have them....either try and Pin them which Im not a fan of...or just reinforce were the Lips attach withFinger Nail gel coat glue or super Glue....My Brother just got some super tough glue like super glue bonds super fast but just stupid strong....couldnt break 2 bolts he glued together right in front of us...within seconds of him setting them neither of us could break them loose just stupid strong

Posts: 75 | Should I repaint it, or leave it alone? The paint is pealing off of it-I hope that was visible about the paint in the picture. I really can't find anything that supports that it is a Wolfgang bait? The one that is pictured online is nothing like mine at all. Are you sure your not plugging a product? haha! Seriously though, there is nothing that shows that was made by Wolfgang baits and you think he would have some kind of pic of his sold, and available models? Any body else have any ideas, or is here others that back this I.D.? It doesn't sound like the name, a guy at the club told my Brother, but he can't remember the exact name.

Posts: 791 Location: Delavan, WI | Bill Wolfgang made his own baits and he was not a retailer most were for his own use he may have given a few away to friends but he was not in the business of making baits for profits just enjoyed carving lures out of wood and for sure it is one of his. I really don't think its worth more than $15 as I purchased a few on Ebay several years ago in much better shape and none of them were more than $20 I say fish it as is or hang it on the wall don't think you will be making that truck payment whether its repainted or not i find it hard to believe lure will ever be worth much $ as Bill has passed some years ago already even if there was a strong market for these this one is in too poor of shape to fetch a good buck anyhow and having it repainted would devalue it

Posts: 75 | Thank you so much for the info! I am sorry to hear he assed away, and never went "big time". the lure is made very well! I am happy to say I own it, and I really never intended to sell it because I like it so much! It has character! I will get it repainted, so the wood is protected, I may even leave it and just have it sealed up and fish it as it in Wolfgang's honor! Thank you again!!! I thought by the look of it, this bait would have gone some kind of main stream! No pun intended. Thanks again, Big Jer

I'm not sure if these lures came with a box but I know my Wishmasters did not and they are worth BIG money, so that kinda kills the more value with a box theory because I'm guessing at least one of those lures if not both didn't come in a box.
