| I recently bought myself a Terrova and now I need a fishfinder/GPS for the bow to go with the transducer. What would be a good unit in the less than $400 range to go up there. The ducer is not SI or DI compatible if Im not mistaken, but I would like something that is color, at least 5", can handle at least a crude map (or has a decent map built in) and is good at marking fish. This is the 2nd unit on the boat and will be used mostly while musky casting and jigging walleyes in the Detroit River. What's compatible and what will work good for those applications? What are you guys using?
I was thinking an elite 5 would do the trick but boat electronics are not my specialty. Thanks!
EDIT: Not really interested in linking with the ipilot, just want to see fish and where Im going while up in the bow. |

It is very easy to operate, has a very bright screen that I can view without having to tilt my sunglasses down just to read and also allows me to use LakeMaster charts. In the winter, I also have a portable ice kit that I hook it to to have sonar, GPS and my lake maps while ice fishing. http://www.humminbird.com/Products/HELIX-7-CHIRP-GPS-G2/ |
