Posts: 20252 Location: oswego, il | I was trolling the big pond over the weekend and thought i dropped a cylinder. Started running bad and quite. Would fire and then die. I was able to drive it back to the ramp. I put ugs, wires and feul filter in it, i took the hood off the flywheel and then seen the broken belt which was wore out. Kinda surprised at the condition so it is something i will beed to check more often in the future. Question is did it damage anything i need to worry about?

Also check the tensioner pulley, spring and and boss on the motor that holds the spring. How old was the belt? I normally recommend every 300 hrs or 3 years on them.

Posts: 20252 Location: oswego, il | I bought a.belt the same size at farm and fleet for under 20 bucks. Looks the same. I was told if you buy one from a merc dealer it is about 90 bucks.

I had issues with my sear pedestals and bases on my small princecraft and they didn't have what i needed in stock so they unscrewed the bases out of a showroom boat. Would't you know princecrafts are botled and i had to remove the entire front deck off the boat to replace it while still in the water. I will be trying the belt shortly, if it fits, will post the brand and number. Edited by ToddM 3/25/2017 9:17 AM

Posts: 20252 Location: oswego, il | Bazaar, cleaned up the boat to take to the marine dealer close to me. Decided to fire up one more time. Ran rough 2 seconds and now runs fine. Must have taken the compressor a little time to catch up? This is the belt. 17.99 at farm and fleet. Off to lassale to run it. Edited by ToddM 3/25/2017 1:24 PM
