| Last night out on Tonka my boat partner caught a 40" musky that had a huge hump down near the dorsal fin, and it was bent. Anybody else ever seen this or have any idea why? | |||

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | DDD, Here's a pic of a Canadian 48" that I got earlier this month. You can see the hump and the deterioration of the dorsal fin. I called it cancer when I saw it in the boat and don't think I am that far off. Any ichthyologists out there that can offer an explanation? | Nice pic NWild, mine was more of a hunch back, and the back third of it was bent at about a 30 degree angle like it broke it's back. I think it would have gone 42-43 if we could have straightened it out. I'll post a pic as soon as I get the pics developed.

| Yup that's what it looked like. I've seen muskies spawning on tonka so I would think so. Lot of them out there. | |||

Posts: 41 Location: Green Bay, WI | I had quite a fight with that tiger. She made a couple of nice aerials, which I thought had broke her back. She swam away fine, so hopefully she is getting bigger so I can catch her again!! I am having major withdrawal from Canada Tomcat. Hopefully I can find a way to get up there again next year.

| I might have caught the SAME fish last spring on Tonka, it had a significant bend about 2/3 back in its torso. Was about the same size caught on the west end of the lake. Hey maybe this CPR thing does work..........Bob T | |||

| Turgeon, We caught this one out in front of Carsons. It could have swam aways. | |||

| Mine was near Brackets Pt. pretty good navigation job if it was the same one. Most likely not but still a good story.......... For whats its worth the one I caught fought like mad, legitimatly felt like a fish a half foot longer. I suspected the different angle of its tail gave it more leverage. For what its worth I have had three (for sure) cases of repeat catches in Tonka in my boat. Keep letting em go kids.......... Bob T | |||
