I recently acquired an Abu Garcia ALPHMAR LC baitcasting reel.
This is a line counting baitcaster for trolling. Never heard of this reel.

Anyone use one of these trolling? Looks like it may double as a light
salt water reel.

Thanks, Ken

I have 4 in the 16 size i bought last summer for walleye trolling. They're nice, tons of line capacity, and the syncro drag system is nice for trolling. I have had no issues with them, but not a ton of use on them either. I plan on picking up a couple for musky trolling.

I can't compare them to any other brands as my dad's wife works for pure fishing and I use pretty much exclusively Abu Garcia/Fenwick etc.

Thanks for the response.
This is the 20 series sized reel. Looks like it would work well for
musky. That is why I posted it here. Figured someone would have
tried one!

I was a field tester for these and will say that all the ones I used were solid and functioned flawlessly.

Cool. Thinking maybe I will throw it on a rod and give it a try.
