Are they soft plastic like live action lures and bulldawgs? I've only seen ads and not up close. Is their action similar to big joes and bulldawgs or something entirely different. I have been debating ordering a couple of the kilr eels but wasn't sure what exactly they were, hard rubber or soft.

Location: Davenport, IA | They are soft plastic but nothing like a bulldawg or live action lures. They are more like glide baits. The giant witch (16" and 8 oz) will snake itself in towards the boatand works best slowly. The kilr' eel is a very erratic bait and can be worked really fast to go all over the place. They both have pretty cool action. |

Location: Gurnee, Illinois | I spent a week in Red Lake Ontario last month, and we fished a lake with a lot of small muskies. We had several fish follow bucktails to the boat, and would continue to follow during figure eights for upto 5 minutes, but would not strike. One fish drifted with our boat and continued to follow every cast that my partner would throw, but would not strike. He did this probably 5 times. My partner put on an 8" killer eel, and threw it behind the boat, and this "neutral" fish just hammered it. He set the hook, and the fish was on for about 5 seconds and came off. The fish hit it again, and unfortunately came off due to the single top hook on this lure. This was enough for me to justify picking a few of these up. Quick, short jerks really make these things dart all over the place. Great looking baits. Pastikas in Hayward seem to have the best price, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They didn't have the colors in stock that I ordered, so they had De long drop ship them directly to me, and I got them the next day. |
