Posts: 22 | Heading to Cedar Lake In late June. Wondering if someone would be willing to share some general pattern for that time of year for bass, walleye and Muskie. I was up in late July last year but decided to go earlier this year. Any info would be great. PM if you need to. Thank you...

Posts: 3504 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya, Not sure people know which Cedar lake you are referring to, which might be part of why nobody has yet to respond. Possible to supply that extra bit of info? People here are usually pretty good about responding. Welcome to the boards!! Steve

Steve I'm assuming he means the Cedar Lake which is 30 miles north of Vermilion Bay, and across the street from Cliff Lake near Perrault Falls. Is that correct tight lips? If yes, I'll be happy to share what I've learned. I've fished it a few times, but never in late June. "Jackpot" John Schroeder

Posts: 136 | I haven't been in a few years but it was like fishing in bumper boats the last time I was there due to heavy traffic. There are tons of pro video on Cedar so easy to research. Good luck...beautiful Lake for sure. Edited by Simple Man 2/12/2017 8:50 PM

Posts: 115 | cedar lake is a awesome fishery, we have been up the last two year, yes there are a few boats on the lake but its nothing terrible, might have to drive 300 feet to the next weed patch if theres a boat in the spot you were headed to. find any patch of weeds and it will hold fish. the first year we boated 19 musky between 3 guys, the second year we boated 16, saw over 100 fish each trip, lots of follows to keep you entertained. we stayed at cedar lake lodge, billy the deck hand always keeps the trip entertaining, and AL, the owner is a great guy as well, and will put you on fish.

Posts: 309 | Late June might be a bit early for hot musky action, but as previously said I'd hit the weedy bays if you can find them. Cabbage may be sparse, but if you find it fish it. Hatfield Bay should have some, but it'll be a boat race to get there in the morning. Check the middle of the inside turns and small bays, too. They had deep weed beds when I was there. Hit the beaver dams, too! And if all else fails, fish the submerged reefs. Might be a bit early in the season for that, but that's usually where we saw the bigger muskies. Walleye, just look for the wagon train of boats and see if they'll let you join the party! Might be worth a trek up through the shoot to Perrault for bass. Lots of chunk rock slides and lots of smallies when I was there last. I wouldn't bother bringing muskie gear that day, though. Most importantly, ask the dock hands for tips.
