I'm sick of having to lift and stow the powerdrive and want to upgrade. Is the Terrova with the power assist easy enough to use or is it worth the extra $400 to get an Ulterra with full power deploy and stow.

Looks like the power assist was redesigned last year to make the Terrova even more easy to use than it already was. Can anyone comment on this.

Thanks

I went from a PowerDrive to a Terrova. The Terrova is way easier to stow and deploy. It is not even close.

I love my terrova I looked at Ulterra but only reason I would go that route is to launch boat solo and be able to drive it back to dock to load up but would be afraid it wouldnt work at somepoint and my boat wouldnt be on its own solo mission down the river or lake...

I had an 2013 terrova. I put a rope around the shaft, under the head with a loop for my hand and used it to deploy and pull up. I made the rope long enough that I could hook it on the cleat on the gunnel to protect the motor from accidently deploying in rough water. Didn't have to bend over so far also. Have an ulterra now and love it.

I recently had a similar decision. Was planning on the Terrova but got a "deal" on an Ulterra. After one weekend of fishing some windy conditions, I felt it was worth it. When I would pull up to a wind-blown point, I could get my boat under control with the trolling motor from the driver seat before I shut down the big motor (without running back and forth). Same with leaving that wind-blown shore. Sit down, fire up the ponies, then stow the trolling motor from the comfort of your captain chair. It's nice when trying to get a few last casts at a couple different "fishy" spots before the weather hits.
