Probably a dumb question, but I just bought new batteries and I want them to perform as best as possible for the year. I have a 2/10/50 amp portable charger which has options for 'Conventional Low Maintenance' and 'Maintenance Free Deep Cycle'; my question is what is the best way to charge my starting battery? It is a size 24 Marine starting battery and has 625 cranking amps. I usually like to charge it overnight so do I charge it at 2 amps and use the Conventional Low Maintenance option?

Thanks in advance!

lower the amp, deeper the charge. It may take longer, but it's the "right" way to do it.

2 amp is BEST, but extremely slow. If your battery is lower it may require the 10amp setting which won't harm your battery. The 50 amp is a bit aggressive and I would avoid that.

exactly go 2amp when possible you might not always have time for that but the 10amp is fairly quick would stay clear of 50
