are these ever going to be available at bait shops or will it always be a bait that you gotta know a guy to be able to own one type bait?

I talked to Scott, who makes them, and he put me on a 1.5 to 2 year waiting list

As of now, they won't be available in stores.

Same here.... I put in an order last year and when I texted him this month he said I would not likely see baits THIS YEAR!

Exactly what I did, looked at pictures and carved it out of wood. Made a squirrel version also. I'm a patient man, but not wait two years for a bait patient.

I should shut up,,and probably make enemy's,,but I would look at the 'navin' a lot of converting over to that by local guys here after seeing them work, not cheap but you sometimes have to buy half a dozen dive and rises to get a good one and he makes sure their right,,I think he will be at Minnesota Show I'm getting one first day.

Muletrain's "SuckerPunch" should just about do it for you on the dive and rise. Wood, hand carved, custom painted, and you don't have to wait a year or two to get yourself one. Made right here in MN!

You don't need to know anyone just reach out to Scott Curtin on Facebook then prepare to wait. I ordered mine December 5 2015 and they ironically showed up today. I don't think the line is any shorter now...

So how does the Navin compare to the Barfighter? C andC'd? Action? I've had good luck on my Barfighters but if I can get a few new colors sooner than a couple years out I'd look at the Navin if it's of similar quality/action.

Here's the sucker punch. The lip is still being modified and will still be there, but flush with the bait. The Playmakers are there to show the painting skills. Those are a sweet erratic glide/jump bait.
