Posts: 32892 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have owned several brands of line winders over the years and they all ended up in the garage, unused because they were a pain to use and it was easier to chase a spool around the room. We got this one from my friend James at Piscifun a few days ago, and it literally took just a few minutes to put new line on all my ice reels.

Location: Eastern Ontario | I have always put mono on a spinning reel by taking it off the end of the spool so it lays on the reel in the same way it was wrapped on the spool. Is this not necessary with braid?

Posts: 32892 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Same thing for me when taking it off with the spool facing the reel, depends on how it was wound on the spool as to whether the line comes off the top or bottom. Zero twist. As I said, no twist, and I loaded several reels with monofilament and two ice reels with fluorocarbon line.

Posts: 32892 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | it did't twist the line for me, and I've loaded several reels with different line types. The jig didn't spin on camera when I dropped it down the first time.

Posts: 32892 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Works great on inline ice reels, though, just spooled up a couple Frabill 241 models.
