Im looking at the Lexa pwr-p and Lexa HS-p I was leaning toward HS cause I have the beast with low gears which is same IPT as Lexa PWR...real question I am seeing them in light silver and Dark Blue what is the differnce? Is one newer than the Other?
I think the Blue is HD model i believe...

anyone pulled regular sized bulldawgs with The HS I cant see it being an issue this real looks more Like a winch!!LOL

The blue Lexa is the Heavy Duty model & it has stainless steel gears vs. brass gears in the other model. Should be no issues will throwing the big stuff. I would recommend that you upgrade the nylon bushing that is under the spool tension knob. Replace it with a steel bearing for added security. You can contact Pikemaster on this site on the exact size as he is the one that sent me the bearing for my Lexa.

I have the 300 HD, half a season on it, no issues, throws most everything great, 10's and 12's it's not ideal but anything smaller no problem including gliders, suicks etc picks up line super fast, brake is excellent on it. Small to mid size rubber is no problem. I have it on a long ranger awesome combo.

No the spool tension knob is on the same side as the reel handle (RH reel it's on the right side). The knob on the opposite side of the reel handle is used to adjust the magnetic cast control. The tensioner puts tension on the end of the shaft of the spool. The spool shaft rests inside a nylon bushing. Replacing it with a SS bearing will make it more durable. It's not necessary to do it but it's a upgrade if you do.

I would definitely go with the hd version. The brass gears don't hold up well at all. I've gone through two sets in less than a full season of using my two Lexa 400h (6.3:1) models.

appreciate advise but I only get to fish once a week usually and I have about 7 rod reel set ups I alternate using so nothing gets heavy use obviously so Ill stick to normal 400HS-P and will send to Pikemaster once I get some use on it and have him go through and upgrade anyhting he can down the road..I appreciate the help though
