I'm back fishing, coming into our fall season. The last few days we have got pounded by rain, and by the looks of the weather channel everyone did too. All this rain has not raised the lake very much at all (4 1/2") but the change in the weather has got the fish into the shallow water. The last couple of days has been really good fishing, some of the best all year actually. Tuesday morning I was out raised five fish in shallow water, all of them in the 40's range, but no takers. Wednesday morning one of our guide boats had a wonderful day landing 4 fish one being a 48", Wednesday evening I went out for a while and we got 4 also low 30's, Thursday morning we got a mid 30's fish. Alot of customers have been coming in saying they caught or raised fish, this has been going on most of the week, and it's not going to do anything but get better. These fish right now are in any cove with weeds on the lake. The best baits for now are a 1oz spinner bait white/nickel, or white/chart. and slowies black or white/red. Hope this helps anyone that is coming this way.

I don't know if their are any fish left in the lake!!!!!!! All last week, through the weekend, and for the better part of this week the fish are going nuts. Everybody has caught fish the last 7-10 days out of those days I can't begin to tell you how many big fish was caught. So far I know of 2 50"ers caught, 7 48"ers, 2 47"ers, and can't count the rest of the fish that have been in the mid 40's range. This is unreal every day it seems someone is catching big fish (except me) I can't break 44" through this hot streak. The lake is up about 11" right now and stable and FULL MOON this should be another great weekend on Cave Run. The surface temp is 76, and at ten feet it is 76, and at twenty five feet it is 72. The pattern has not changed on these fish so far, still fishing shallow (1'-8') weeds. The bait choices have not changed still throwing 1oz spinners, Slowies, Burts, and small bucktails. If your coming this way good luck hope you stop by and chat. Good Luck to all the P.M.T.T fisherman, and watch out for number 45 they are due.

Lake Level 7 1/4" above summer pool Fell 3/4" last 24 hr Surface Temp. 78 Degrees Ten Feet Temp. 78 Degrees Twenty Five Temp. 72 Degrees Clarity: Clear to Merky It's getting closer and closer to that BIG-BIG fish time. This is truly a beautiful time of year here at Cave Run, with muskies going wide open, foggy morning's, and soon, the coloring of leaves. The fish are still going right now, customers have been coming in talking about catching, and moving fish. BIG fish too. This weekend should be a great weekend for muskie action, with the hurricane coming in, the temps dropping down through the weekend, boy I'm getting chill bumps just talking about it!!!! Nothing has changed as far as pattern goes. The fish are still shallow in the weeds anywhere from 1'-8' of depth. Still throwing spinnerbaits, Jerks, and shallow crankbaits. Seems like right now the hot tickets are a 1oz size spinner, Burts or Sledges, and a Super Stalker, these seem to be producing the best for everyone. I also expect the TOPWATER action to pick up maybe by the weekend, with the cooler temps, this should help us out. The Flats should be heating up at anytime, seems that all the fish are in coves right now, but that will cool down soon. When the weekend comes I would fish the Flats it's TIME!!! We are getting in new orders everyday-- Musky Buster Lures, Bull Dawgs, Slowies, Rods, Reels, and Line, all of this should be here by the weekend. If you come down stop in and say Hi. Good Luck this weekend.

Lake Level--- 4" above summer pool Fell 1/2" Last 24 hr. Surface Temp.--- 73 Ten Feet Temp.--74 Twenty Five Feet Temp.--74 Lake Clarity---- Clear to Merky What a weekend here at Cave Run, we had our Musky School "The Crash Course" we had 25 people from all over the U.S spending some time on Cave Run. Out of everybody we had 94 fish up caught 18 hooked 29. This is by far the best school we have had yet as far as producing fish. The big fish was 42" and the most fish caught by a student was 41",33",31". I have been guiding last three days, Monday we got one fish through the hardest rain I have fished in since the PMTT was here it was 36", Tuesday we got a 42", and today I split my day up and so far a big fat zero!!!! All the fish are still shallow in the weeds. The flats are a hot item right now, but there are fish in every spot right now if they have weeds. Bait pattern has not changed, still throwing spinners, shallow crank baits, Jerks. Good Luck hope everyone catches a monster!!!

I know this is early but I will be busy all week. I think somebody has put a curse on me, because my boat has lost more fish than we have caught - not something to brag about!!!!!! Since Friday I have 8 fish in the boat should have at least 20 and big daddy's too!!!! I just can't keep them hooked. The pattern has not changed fish are still shallow in the weeds. Shallow weeds are in just about every cove on the lake, and main lake flats, and the Zilpo Flats as well. Topwater is starting to produce well for me like a musky buster or a top raider, and slowies, and 1oz spinners. Jerks have not produce that much in last few days. Good Luck to everyone catch the BIG one. Lake Level 3" above and Fell 1/4" last 24hr Surface Temp. 71 Ten feet Temp. 71 25 feet Temp. 71 Clairty Merky to Clear
