Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Since I have officially forgotten the number of years we have run this, let's just call it the 89th Annual Chicago Swap Meet!
As always, the Saturday of the Chicago Muskie Show (January 7th this year), and as it has been in years past, we are staying at the Poplar Creek Bowl in Hoffman Estates, IL. It's a 25 minute drive from the show itself, but the location is still free to enter and always will be.
And, because consistency is good, we're going to do another raffle for super amazing awesome prizes. Raffle tickets can be purchased but we GREATLY would appreciate if people would bring canned goods in lieu of cash if you can possibly remember to bring them. ALL proceeds go directly to the Elk Grove Village Food Pantry in nearby Elk Grove Village.

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | And some of your are probably thinking 'what is a swap meet, i have never attended one', so here's a quick explanation:
Every year we (meaning myself and whomever I can beg to help me) reserve the upstairs ballroom at Poplar Creek Bowl in Hoffman Estates ( http://poplarcreekbowl.com/ ). The room has space for about 50 tables, which are free to use (ie. no charge for selling/trading) and it's first come, first to grab a table at the venue.
Official start time is 7PM, but...if you want to ensure you have a table...
Free to attend, but we HIGHLY suggest you bring canned goods or cash to donate for our raffle. We have in the past had raffle prizes of lures, shirts, reels, rods, cars, boats, etc. Ok, two of those were made up, but you have to donate cash or non-perishable food items to get in the raffle.

You can call Poplar Creek Bowl in Hoffman Estates ( http://poplarcreekbowl.com/ ) and see if they'll rent you a room for the show! Then you'll be right there for the swap meet. |
