Posts: 1185 Location: Iowa | So my parents had a fire in their garage this past week and we lost our 2007 620 DVS in that fire, No tackle or gear was in the boat. Everyone is ok and the fire was contained to both garages. We are going to order another Ranger but just wanted to ask a question to everyone. What are some of the things you wish you had in a boat that if you could do it all over again you would do. Here is the list of stuff we had the we're replacing. 620 FS Double Bubble 250 HP Verado w/ Hydraulic Steering 9.9 Pro Kicker linked to steering control Terrova 112 US2 I-Pilot w/ Ram Stabilizer HDS 12 Gen3 Touch Bundle (networked and flush mounted) HDS 9 Gen3 Touch (networked and flush mounted) Just Encase Deck Box Just Encase Pedestal Pall Keel Guard Mercury Engine Gauge Butt Seat for the Bow Skeg Protector on the Verado

Posts: 1220 | 620 with Verado is a match made in heaven, but much deeper drafting than folks think. I put a jack plate on my most recent boat, it's the best thing I ever did!

Posts: 1185 Location: Iowa | I work in a retail store that has had 4 returned defective. Terrova is the way I am going. We run Lowrance units so the Link wouldn't work if we go it Edited by Big Perc 11/26/2016 12:49 PM

Posts: 1220 | I recognize there aren't a lot of folks who can do it, but Ultera is too great not to have it, even if there are problems now and then. I have a Terrova as a backup with a slide plate and quick connections I can swap in five minutes. If you travel like I do for any length of time, you are going to damage your bow mount and if you are somewhere important, you'll ruin the trip. Most don't have a spare, but you really should??

Posts: 27 | I would suggest as long as your are buying, rear deck extension with a butt seat. AM/FM bluetooth for the long hours of sucker fishing. And finally, the full windshield instead of the double bubble if you fish early to late like I do. I can't imagine the bubbles anymore when fishing in tough conditions. Understand the point on Ulterra, but i love mine.

Posts: 457 Location: Minneconia | Matt, go full windshield. Best thing I ever did. Take a look at the new Minn Kota Ultrex before Terrova as well, looks like the perfect musky fishermans trolling motor. Maybe a Talon as well.

Posts: 427 | Two items I really like are Cisco Fishing System Cradel Rod holders can be used any track system , best of the best, and Cabelas Control Post pedestal instead of a butt seat. It does the same thing as a butt seat but only takes up 3 in or so of the casting deck. Been using it 2 seasons and will never go back to a traditional Butt seat. A lot more room on the platform. There's an Atlas hydraulic jackplate on my 2016 209tfx w/250 Verado and I love it for 1) shallow, unfamiliar water and 2) running more efficient (picks up rpm without increasing power).
