Heading down tomorrow for a few hours and was hoping someone could give me a few tips on this lake. Only fished it once last year in December with no luck.

Thanks

I havn't fished Evergreen since 1998, but did O.K. on 36" class fish. Troll (Sorry I usually had booze hounds from Paxton, IL. in the boat with me)or cast the tappered shoreline to the east of the dam(4 of the 5 fish I boated). Radtke Pikies were our favorite then, but the fish averaged much smaller (per reports). Natural colors seemed best, after hours of mindless trolling. Don't forget to bring some minnows to do a little Saugeye jiggin off the west boat ramp/east point off the boat ramp(got a 38.25" from there on a small Storm crank in search of S eye's in early May in 1997. That probably was my downfall for not getting bigger muskies. I spent too much time pretending I was in the Northwoods w/o a twang. I usually hit the Merna Tap on the way back as if I were Bucher going to the old George's after spending a day on the Cisco Chain (If anyone asks, we were on Trout). Good Luck!

Wish I had seen this post sooner as I could have given him some current news. I hope he's doing well...

For the rest of those interested I have the Scott Richardsons column from yesterday (11/7)which states that guide Dave Ludington, Scott, and another client caught a nice 45"er casting gray or white Magnum Voo Doo Tails. Plus had a 30" fish caught trolling 13" Grandmas in pearl-white.

I'm going Sunday...

Hit Evergreen last Friday, had one fish on, it hit in woods in about 2feet of water in a back bay. Water temp was about 48 degrees. Also had a couple follows. All in all it was a nice day to be on the water. Wish they would lift that 10hp rule, its a pain to rely only on trolling motor to get around.

Talk about digging up old stuff!!! I started reading my own post that didn't show my name, and thought...Holy Buckets, Paxton drunks must be really well known! Evergreen was/is a very nice lake. I had some great times there, but never saw a fish over 40"...Saugeyes sure were stupid. Andrew is this your first KWM Tournament? You will really like it.

Thanks for the info...and I've fished the KWM a couple of times, just not in a few years.
