I fish it. Pretty excited myself. What family do you fish? Last year won a elkriver custom rod just bought a beast for its debut this year.

I've fished Lake Family 1 exclusively. I lived in Eagle River for about 10 years and know The Chain/Kentuck very well. My parents and younger brother both have houses in close proximity as well so it's convenient and my lodging is free!

I'll be there as well. We've fished family 3 for the last few years but are switching to family 1 this year to fish Kentuck. We got lucky and have a family friend who is letting us dock our boats on his pier the whole weekend. Be on the look out for guys wearing CCB (Croatts Custom Baits) sweatshirts and shirts. Stop and have a beer and say hi. Goodluck to everyone

Looks like I'll be headed up to prefish Friday - Sunday. I was bored last night and marked up maps of good looking musky spots I've never fished on he E.R. chain. Might hit Kentuck on Sunday morning.

Nice I fish family 1, sounds like hitting Kentuck for a day. Love that lake but a bit of a circus during the tournament. Usually pound the chain hard. Like the variety of structure for a whole weekend.

I feel the same way about Kentuck during the tournament. I counted 38 legal fish that came out of there last year, but there was probably 60-100 boats out every day of the tournament. The E.R. Chain also has a lot of boats, but also a lot more structure to fish and 5x the acerage.

We've fished Kentuck the first 1/2 day of the tournament every year but moved very few fish and never caught one. My fishing partner's father in law did catch the biggest fish of the tournament on Kentuck last year at 49 1/2" though.

This will be my first time fishing the tournament and first tournament ever. I'm very excited!!! I will be fishing with my old man and we will be fishing lake family #3. I'm curious how to get a fish verified on a lake. Do you wave another tournament boat down to verify? Is there someone working the tournament at every lake? I'm sure this will be all explained at the orientation.

Since this will be my first tournament, what is the best advice for a newbie?

My goal is to register at least one fish and enjoy the time on the water with my dad.

Yes CapnKraut they will explain it during orientation. Usually you will not have a problem flagging a boat over for registering a fish. And if no one close by a couple of good photos works and a partner signature. Its a for fun tournament being a door prize boat n all. As a newbie have fun and fish hard. Don't blow a ton on raffles I've won more when I put 20$ into the raffle than 100$ it's a good time and 1 in 1200th chance at a new ranger.

Just got home from fishing all weekend. We struggled on Saturday for 15 hours without moving a single fish. This morning had a blow up on a top water and a follow in about 5 hours of fishing. The weather was all over the place on Saturday, nice this morning with some rain coming in this afternoon.

While I was heading home, my mom called to tell me she lost a 40" musky at the boat while blugill fishing and my Dad had another try to swipe a bluegill 5 mins later. We fished that lake until 9:30 pm last night in that same area.

P.S. Water temperature was 72-74 between all the lakes we fished. Weed growth is normal, but not quite as thick as some years. Water levels are normal to slightly above normal in the Vilas county area.

Looks like thunderstorms late Friday and afternoon on Sunday, with a rain chance Saturday morning. Should get the fish active if nothing else.

Looks like we'll be fishing in some rain on Saturday, but the thunderstorms shouldn't hit until 8-9 PM on Friday. I head up tomorrow after work and plan on fishing all day on Thursday until the rules briefing.

Fishing was tough in my boat this weekend. Caught some northern and bass but we never saw a musky. Rain, rain and more rain all weekend. Lake temps 77 on Thursday, 69 on Sunday.

Hunter Mathison (sp?) was the winner, had 5 fish all caught on Friday morning.

Saw a couple fish, missed 2, had one other hot follow and my cousin got a 47. Overall decent weekend minus the rain
