Location: Wausau, WI | Anyone know the tip diameter on the Shimano TDR 8' H? Having some issues with line abrasion on my trolling rods and want to replace all the tips. I tried emailing and calling Shimano but they couldn't answer.

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | I've only had to replace one tip but can't remember the tip diameter. Heat the old tip with a lighter and pull off and find a set of calipers to measure. I wanna say it was 3 mm but not positive |

Location: Wausau, WI | I ended up going with a 3.6 mm diameter tip and they fit well. I didn't have a caliper but eyeballed it with a ruler and got it right for once. |

Man you got some good eyes to do that. I'm betting that more times than not someone would not be able to do that by eyeballing with a ruler. |

Location: Wausau, WI | Ha yeah I got lucky! I could tell it was more than 3mm but less than 4mm. The tips I got came in a 3.4 and 3.6 size so I got the bigger just in case. They fit great. Every other time I eyeballed tip diameter with a ruler I had to place a second order! |

If you do that so often it might pay to get a dial caliper. Then you get the right size the 1st time. |

Location: Wausau, WI | They're definitely built with cheaper components but so far they're holding up well for trolling. I don't know if you can find a better rod for the money.
