Are you planning on linking it to your Lowrance?

Yea and I just read I'll need a $250 part. Is that true?

250? What part is that? Unless you want to link all your graphs, you should only need a US2 to connect to your Lowarance. Most likely will need a new receptacle (gunnel plug-in) if it is wired that way. Could consider a quick release mounting bracket, battery cases, etc? It all depends on your boat and how its set up.

I dont have a

" NOTE: The connection of the Xi5 and the Lowrance HDS Gen2, HDS Gen2 Touch, HDS Gen3 or Elite-7Ti unit requires a NMEA 2000 network and the MotorGuide Gateway Kit . If a NMEA 2000 network has not been established, a starter kit, Lowrance® NEMA 2000® Networking System or MotorGuide® Pinpoint GPS NMEA2000 Starter Kit will be required to complete the setup. "

so this wont be needed

One more question

Is there a wiring kit I'm supposed to buy with a fuse vs just buying some short wires and connecting them?
