I haven't yet but I did read a post from someone last week about a water temp of 49. They did not say where they took it from. I'm hoping to get out possibly this weekend but for sure on Good Friday!

Was out on Saturday, fished Channel, Catherine and the channel into Marie (and the shoreline to the south there). Water is nice and clear, weeds are very much up (though a little crappy and dead-ish), water temps between 41 and 45.

Didnt see a #*^@ thing. Fished under 10' the whole 5 hours, ran small twitch baits and gliders.

I went to wolf lake In. Friday, water was 48 no fish I just wanted to run the boat and wolf is the closest place from my house. I'll be at the chain or Shabona sometime next week and will give you guys a report. Slammer did you get a new boat?

Spent another birthday on Channel/Catherine Friday...not much going, water at 46 at daybreak, reaching 50 in some spots late afternoon. Water level seemed normal, but maybe a bit low. Didn't see any Muskie, and the Crappie guys I met said the water is still too cold.
Cool white pelicans around and a zillion cormorants..maybe more.
Great day to be out on the boat, and things should start jumping there this week.

So I've been out a few times so far and nothing to show for it but catfish. This is my first year with a boat and my first time fishing the chain. I was wondering if anyone out there who knows the water might be interested in a day out this Saturday with me? I'm trying to get educated so I can have at least a little success out there when I bring my wife with. Love to have someone else in the boat if it works out.

You're not doing anything wrong. Tough time of the year to catch Muskies on the chain. First week of June is game on -- surface, jerkbaits, buck tails, or trolling. You will catch fish. Still to early -- trust me on this one. Todd

Been tracking reports from guys who know the Sewer, I mean the Chain...blanks across the board so far from what I have seen.

So no, you're not doing anything wrong.

Anybody hear about/of any results for the musky tourney
yesterday on the Chain? Couldn't of been to much fun w/the
nasty cold front.

I saw 14 fish on the winner's board and looked like a 43" was the big fish.

I didn't fish the tournament Saturday, but I did the Fish With A Vet outing on Sunday. What a great event, so very well done by those folks at Take a Vet Fishing.
Left me extremely humbled and pretty much speechless....

Air temps at 6am were 30 degrees. Piers were coated with frost. Water was 56, down from 60-61 on Friday. Got off the water at 11, air temp had climbed to 46, very breezy but at least the sun was out.
Beautiful day, but we didn't even see a fish, They were hunkered down. We stayed on Catherine and Channel, water was very clear.
I'm sorry I don't think my report does you much good.
However, I expect good things from here on out.

Went out today, fished down south. Moved 3 fish in 4 feet of water or less, caught one healthy 37" inch fish in 2 feet of 63 degree water

Fished Saturday and Sunday, early early to about 11 both days. Saw 4 on Saturday, missed a dink and landed a 35" or so. Saw a recent stocker Sunday and caught a 40". Both fish were caught on a 6" perch HR run over emergent weeds while the boat was in 7' of water. Saw one on a weagle super early Saturday, tried tails and spinnerebaits, but everything wanted to look at or eat the HR.

Not much reporting on the chain... I've been out one or two days a week over the past few months, started out seeing lots of fish disinterested, moved into some follows regularly, not I'm onto not seeing much at all. Anyone been having any luck lately?

Finally broke through this week, all thanks to T-Bone Guide Service and Chris Taurisano. He is tremendous to fish with, and I learned quite a bit along with just generally great conversation. He is both a terrific angler and wonderful human being. We went out Tuesday afternoon for a half day on the Chain and boated a 43", 41", and 40" while seeing 4 others. I highly recommend time out with him if you can, he gave me a lot of confidence in nuanced ways to approach finding fish.
