So, in my excitement to get on the road up north I pulled my boat out of the garage without unplugging my onboard charger.

Snapped the ground pin off the plug.

Is it still safe to use? I really dont want to spend another ~$100, I just installed the #*^@ thing a month ago. I knew I should have unplugged it the night before when I was in the garage....but, no, "I wont forget in the morning".

Probably not important at the exact moment. But I would definitely supervise it for 10 minutes after you plug it in making sure it isn't getting damaged somewhere inside the cord you can't see. Half of the hotels I stay at have issues with the ground plug and gfi, the half that do I have a cord that I removed the 3rd prong which fixes the gfi from popping.

Cut the plug off and put one of these on!

Personally I'd open it up and replace the whole cord.
But... that's just me.

Some chargers like Dual Pro are sealed and you cannot get in them to replace the whole cord. I agree with you if you can easily open the charger!

Well, I contacted noco. They gave me a 50% off coupon for a new one...so I upgraded to the 20a instead of the 8a and paid the same I did for the first one. MORE POWAH! Or, faster power...either way, its an upgrade.

Once I install the new one I will see if I can open up to replace the cord. I didnt even think of just putting a new plug on, that would have been the easiest solution. Oh well, too late now...if anyone is looking for an onboard charger I have a barely used one for sale.
