I have a stainless prop that needs some work (2 of the 3 blades are bent up pretty good). Can/ or should I repair the prop or look to get a new one (about $550-...ouch!)
If repair is the answer, is there a good place to take it to or send it to? I'm in the SW suburbs of Chicago. (When I googled prop repair Airmarine by Midway popped up and it looks like it had good reviews) Just looking for some insight from someone that may know more than me.
Thanks!
Fyi...it is on a Suzuki 150/19'Alumacraft Deep V

Have a repair shop look at it and see if it is worth fixing. If you haven't checked already, might want to make sure your propshaft is not bent too.

You can send it to prop md in Eden prairie, mn. They do great work on props. I have brought me to them a couple times after some road trips. One time in particular when I found an unmarked Boulder in 9 ft of water I thought the stainless prop was done for with a couple chunks gone, they reconditioned it like new. It was a 4 blade and it cost $125 to get repaired. Less than a third of the price of a new one.

JB, I don't know which suburbs you use but I use Airmarine and a boat mechanic in Channahon. DM Marine which is near the Big Basin Marina on the Des Plaines. Both places are real good.

I have had many aluminum props repaired at Fox Lake Propeller in Spring Grove, Il. They end up looking like new every time. They are out of your way, but they do great work. Great excuse for you to hit the chain!

Prop MD in Eden Prairie, mn does great work even if chunks are missing for around $125 (I have a 4 blade SS prop). You can send them the prop and they'll ship it back. http://www.propmd.com/
