Posts: 33 | Fishing today in high winds trolling motor was on high speed for a while all of a sudden quit working. I think I checked all fuzes and power lines. Any help on what might be wrong. Tolling motor is minn Kota 24volts 70lb thrust. And the lights for the battery charge do not go on when pushing the button.

Posts: 1209 | On your power lines I would expect to see this ( http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Products/MKR-19-CIRCUIT-BREAKER/ ) if there is a very small red wedge in the middle just push it shut. Or see this ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/32738620?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerI... ) maybe two of them see the tiny black button, push both of them if there are two. Maybe need a pen to do it.

Posts: 246 | Pull the prop and see if there's anything stuck in the seal. Fishing line loves to hide itself back there and slide into the seal.

Posts: 30 | I had the same problem with the same motor. Take apart the male side of the plug and make sure all wires are screwed securely inside plug. If not the male side, check connections on the rear of the female plug. My problem was in the male plug. I tightened everything up and worked just fine. Good luck!

Posts: 33 | Thanks to fishy sam the trolling is up and running. Been fishing out of boats with trolling motors for 30 plus years and there is always something to learn. And thanks to the other responses have had the other issues happen before, and were the first things to check.

Posts: 540 Location: Leech Lake, Walker MN | Maybe get a larger circuit breaker then no issues on high power

What's the rating on your circuit breaker? Minnkota says the 70 lb Terrova draws 42 amps max, and needs a 50 amp breaker. Is your breaker's rating lower than that? https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.minnkotamotors.com/WorkArea/...

Posts: 1209 | It's not necessarily a problem. I have had both of the above trip before for no apparent reason. Just once each and has never happened again. My boat has MK breaker. Buddies has the other. But not you can reset them on the lake if it happens again and maybe if it happens again I'd worry about it.
