I've fished it a half a dozen times. I've never caught a muskie out of it but have netted a couple and seen some fish. I've heard of some nice fish being caught out of it, but I personally don't care much for it. It gets really green in the summer and I just haven't had much luck on it. I think there are better lakes in the area. Holcombe, Dairyland, and Rice to name a few.

My opening day choice this year. There are better choices in the area like the other fella said, but I'll bring my "A" game to it next week and see what happens. Seen muskies there in the past but never caught one. Did some scouting there last week and the water was still "kind of" clear. I've fished it in the early fall periods in the past so just wanted to try it early season with different presentations. Kdawg

There's a couple other lakes right around there that also have muskies, so if Potato isn't going you can try another one of those too. I was up there once and there was way too much boater recreation for my tastes

The lakes in this area gets tons of pressure from yuppie recreation boaters. Musky fishing is good in Round, Sand, Long, Fireside is a sleeper, basically all the lakes in this area hold fish. If I were to pick one besides potatoe it would be fireside or Amacoy.

I still have one more day left before wrapping it up. Seen one large musky and hooked and lost a smaller fish. The lake was still in pretty good shape as far as water clarity goes, temps at 66-71 degrees. Caught 11 fish altogether, 9 northerns with one at 34",and a couple of largemouth bass. The pike that I did catch all were stout and healthy looking, strong fighters to. I think the big predators are well fed fish on the carp forage base making it tough for us fisherman. Did observe huge carp splashing around in the shallow weed areas so it was no surprise that I caught most of my fish that were patrolling the outside weed edges. Also observed a large amount of dead panfish, mostly crappies. Don't know what that's all about. My last day is tomorrow, going to try shallow cranks and see what happens. Kdawg
