Hello Everyone
I am looking at getting a new Frabill Net, PowerCatch Series. The size just below the Big Kahuna. I am looking at getting the 60" depth net rather than the 48".

Any reason one is better/worse than the other based on experience? I will be fishing Big Fish water almost exclusively. The Big Kahuna is just too big for my boat and mainly solo fishing. Any input is greatly appreciated.

60" depth will pen a big fish better.

Bigger the better, Sometimes I think my Big Kahuna is more important then some of my lures or some rod/reel combos... Taking off a dink yesterday was a challenge as the treble had hooked both upper & lower jaw- but with that big net, that fish was comfortable and in the water the whole time. The size of it easily allows for two people to work on the fish if needed.
Also remember your freeboard height (I think that's the right name) Your height of your boat above the water where you'll be working on the fish. Tight Lines.

IMO 60" depth would be absolutely unnecessary. Most boats only stick up 10-20" above the water so you will have 4' or more net bag in the water to try and deal with a fish. Also it's that much more bag for a fish to roll up in. The size of the hoop is much more important than a super deep bag. I use a Beckman fin saver net which has a 40" deep bag out of a Skeeter MX1825 and the net is plenty deep. You will be just fine with the standard Frabill 48" bag

I prefer the 48" bag also. Too much hassle trying to get to the fish when it has a small pond sized bag to hide in. Plus if you fish alone a 60" can get caught on things more easily than the 48".

Agree on the 48. That's plenty of depth unless you're in a boat with huge freeboard which doesn't have a livewell....and I fish big water, alone as well.

I've been fine with the 48" net but then again I fish in northern WI where we only have small fish.

a 54 fills up a 60 pretty well. Again, depends on the water you fish.
