One lake I fish has two productive points about 300 yards away and in this area is a large 30 foot deep shelf that nearly joins the too surrounded by 45 foot water. Would this be a good place to target suspendos? Also, there is a 5 foot deep rock bar about 150 yards from another rock hump topping out at 5 feet and in between is water about 45 feet deep with an island forming a triangle...would this be a good open water area to fish? I am really trying to seek out a suspendo bite. No ciscoes, just perch, walleyes and panfish for forage. Thanks for any input.

I think that they sound like classic spots to me. but someothers may know best. I feel your pain though. on a lake I fish I can only find bait fish in one spot . they are there like clock work. It's on the side of the lake where the wind blows 99% of the time. My screen will go black with them,5-10' down. I see nobody ever fish these pods of bait fish. there is nothing fancy to hold them here but like I said with the wind I think it pushes them down there. Well anyways I have yet to ever see a muskie there it don't make much sense to me? They say that there are shad in this lake could this be what I am seeing ?they hang in about 18' of water 2 cast off the weed edge. Do I need a tuffshad ??? oops this did not help your post to much but I think whe may be in the same boat. Whe both have found some muskyhunter page 23, paragraph 2, text book spots, but no muskies ????????

I know how you two feel.  The fish just seem to have disappeared on the lake I frequent.  I've tried finding them in the open at all the "CLASSIC" spots, but to no avail.  Where are those that know where to find them?  I guess they are out catching fish.  What else can we do?  HELP?!

Fish On, those are good spots to start. I do a lot of my suspended musky fishing near some type of structure. Most of the time it's some type of point that extends under the water a ways. What you described sounds like a very good place to start. Don't get discouraged of you don't see fish the first time you try the spot out. Try it at different times of the day, and with a varity of lures at different depths. Also don't get hung up on seeing baitfish on you depth finder. A lot of times, depending on the forage, the fish are too high for the locator to pick the fish up.
