Posts: 568 Location: Lake St Clair | Whats the difference between these two beside the gear ratio? $70 for a lower gear seems excessive. I want the 5.4.1 because i feel the 4.6 is too slow. Just want to make sure i buy a heavy duty reel http://www.basspro.com/Abu-Garcia-Revo-Toro-Winch-Casting-Reel/prod... http://www.basspro.com/Abu-Garcia-Revo-Winch-Baitcast-Reels/product...

Posts: 906 Location: Canada | The Revo Winch is a bass reel. The Revo TORO winch in the 4.6:1 gear ratio is a musky reel and will come in two sizes a 50 and a 60 in right-handed or a 51 and a 61 in a left-handed. what do you plan to use the reel for mostly?

Posts: 572 | the toro has greater line capacity, line-out alarm, etc. I was told the 60 winch would be best......less problems casting with the heavier line and it will cast further easier. However, I like the high speed and just ordered the Revo Toro 60-HS. sending a pm on where I ordered mine from.

Posts: 906 Location: Canada | By mostly bucktails do you mean double 10's? If so then the 4.6:1 gear ratio is what most use. I use my 4.6:1 Toro Winch for casting double tens and sometimes cranks smaller than 8". This reel won't "burn" double 10 bucktails.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | Do a search on here and find the parts needed. I think there are only 2 or 3.

Posts: 1082 Location: Aurora | Call Abu and give them the foot number off of your reel and tell them you want a 5.4 gear set (main & pinion). Bout $50 all said & done and replacement is pretty straight forward. Abu Garcia Customer Service 1900 18th Street Spirit Lake, IA 51360 (800) 228-4272 [email protected]

Posts: 100 | Thank you! I had the 4.6 out yesterday and running a heavy spoon, I couldn't keep it off the bottom...kept dredging in weeds. I've not had that issue with faster reels, so I assume that's the problem.
