Well we are looking for new adventure and looking at heading to Lac Suel. Looking for any advice as far as places to stay. Is fishing up in Chamberlin narrows still good, people that stay at Linda rice's place are they making long runs?

Thanks

Troy

I went once....I would not stay at Moosehorn. Way too long of runs to get up to good fishing. I stayed up in the Chamberlain Narrows area. Not easy to fish, but found a few giants and there was like nobody else up there to share it with

Fished Chamberlain and north a few times. Always a true wilderness experience and big fish. My experience was bigger fish. The smallest I ever measured was 44". This not numbers water, but home to true giants.
Where to stay????

Well that's the problem. Chamberlain Narrows resort...Unfriendly-expensive.
I think Andersons has a cabin north of Chamberlain. Again expensive
House Boats are an option but you loose one full day getting up there and one day getting back. Only 5 days fishing.. again expensive. Lac Seul House Boats owners friendly and helpful though.

Good Luck

Member???? I I've been on Suell in a houseboat,,watch that lead foot of yours or its lower unit time,,,and bring a lure knocker for snags or those custom glued dawns of yours are staying.
The group I went with is looking to do another one in Oct if you want their number. Good guys I just saw them yesterday at the MI 50th banquet.

I've done 4 trips to lac seul on a houseboat... nice thing about that is of course you can park in the area you want to fish... we parked it up by Pine Island/Birch Narrows... we hired a guide to drive the houseboat to/from the area, tied our boats up to the back and just chilled on the way up.. it is an awesome trip and one I would like to do again... we were relative newbies to the sport back in the late 90s but we caught, saw, and lost some BiG fish... I somehow managed to lose 3 50 inch class fish on Stanleys spinnerbaits one trip.. ouch... it is far lower density than places like LOTW but you also see far fewer boats... some true giants live up in that NE section... the structure is amazing.. fond memories of those trips... if you go Troy let me know I'll mark some spots for you

would this area be good for multispecies action? Im planning a house boat trip for fall of 2017 but 80% of the crew wants to fish walleye.

The walleye fishing up there is stupid, good! We spent late June/early July 2003-2007 chasing walleyes, big pike, smallies, and the occasional musky. I spent most of my time fishing muskies and didn't light em' up over the course of a few years. As a group we got a couple small fish and, 40", 45", 47", 47", 52". Knowing what I know now, with better equipment I think I'd do a little better, but not much better.

Pike on that end are rather large and you'll have a lot of fun with them. If you can find smallies, they're big and dumb, and fun!

The walleye fishing, compared to the west end (where we are now, Onaway Lodge) is better numbers in my opinion. But, the size we catch on the west side is much bigger. 24-26" were the biggest we encountered. I know there are bigger ones on the east side, we just never got into one. West end we get multiple 24-26" daily with about five that go from 27-30" in a week. Like i said though, the numbers are crazy. We caught so many walleyes from 18-22"! I loved it.

The camp up that way priced themselves out of our business along with their subpar customer service. Wish I could go back...it's fishing heaven!

How long of a trip is it from Hudson where the house boats leave to the pine island / birch narrows area?
