I just got a different trolling motor, plus there was another mounted on bow, which I had just caulked. Now, esp after reading the gelcoat thread, I am thinking a true repair would be in order. Being a glass repair rookie, I sure could use some advice from anyone willing to offer, thanks.

Depends on what needs repaired. If it's just gel, that's easy. They sell kits for that. If it's the glass structure itself, that's more in depth, but also depends on the extent of the repair you intend to do.

If you want general advice, it'd be take your time and don't take short cuts.
