It was interesting watching the fat bastards almost sell out in a few hours. Watched one guy drop 800 bones on a handfull of bastards. Ive never been black friday shopping but the lake x booth had to be similiar. They actually had guards only letting 2 to 3 guys enter the booth at a time. I was suprised to only see one guy get tazered. Had a nice chat with rizzo and got my books signed. Overall a pretty good day.

With light snow falls and bad roads the show was still pretty packed on Friday afternoon. Lots of good deals to be had.

I think it's a great show and will be back next year for a few days I think. I'm not sure this is the show of money saving deals but there were a few. What you do get is the chance to see smaller vendors you won't see at the bigger shows like the family businesses or the guy who works in his basement after work for months on end to do a single show. Great speakers with a variety you don't see at the other shows. Nice venue looked like it was easy for vendor set up. I think this is my favorite show... But I haven't been to the new Milwaukee expo yet.

I had great time at the show chatting with folks who stopped at the Muskies Matter booth..Perfect location right next to Bull Falls brewery booth - I gave the gals a new slogan, "Get hooked on Bull Falls beer!". The guy's at the Hayward Performance Tackle booth across from us and next to Beavers Baits had some great video's of some Beaver Baits lure's in action..and some very nice saltwater lure samples. Now I also know where a few indestructable lure bodies come from - Charlie, Chris's son, was their walking lure demo man, it was fun to watch him play with them, throwing them on the floor, great fun! Also met up with a few old friends and had a few laugh's - muskie! nut, BigMo, Muskynightmare, Krishna, Reef Hawg, and others, met a lot of other nice folks too.

I picked up a couple of Nauti Lures T's for my daughter (The Beast Huntress) and my grandaughter (Girl Who Laugh's at 50's), also picked up a couple of lure's at show and swap..including a very nice weedless bucktail. I thought I had enough bucktails, but couldn't resist, it should be perfect for the water's I'm fishing this year in Canada...I'm putting it on the G-Loomis I picked up at the Milw -swap..

Unfortunately, muskie! nut's stuff at the swap was way overpriced and negotiating with him was was like dealing with a camel trader or used car dealer!

Fun show, if you live within a couple of hours of Wausau its a good show too hit up today..

Have fun!
Al

I received my free replica from LAX Reproductions at the show yesterday. I was the winner of last years show drawing. Wanted to say a big thanks to them. The replica is great. Looks better than the real thing.

I finally met a guy I have admired for almost 40 yrs today, Tony Rizzo. And I admire him even more now. I pray that I make it to 80 in as great a shape as he is a still obsessed with giant 'skis! He was awesome when I asked him to sign a 1st edition of "Secrets" I bought 38 yrs ago when I was 10. Highlight of the show for me. And, his passion really showed during his seminar, good thing no brought up trolling or we may still be there getting schooled by the legend!

They took a pic for the show. Said it would be on their Facebook page. I am going to hang it in my office at work. I will try to remember to post a pic after I have it on the wall.

Thanks for a great show!!!!!!! Sat nite party was great,,,all the pizza you wanted at swap,,,then went over and had pig roast catered in at party,,,
Margaritas for $5 at the bar across the street has desert.
Blue ribbon had great deals 50% off on giant squirko s ,,I would have loaded up on kramer tails but on Sat couldn't get near Mike to talk he was so.popular and busy. Seminars here are so good never dosed off once. Only show I can get enticer tails at the bucktails that just have something about them that twin cities metro fish like.
This swap meet is smaller then most but getting bigger every year and it's the best at finding gems. Frenchy creeper in the box $50,,,picked up a new Abu 6501 for $30, mint year 2000 hughes river hughey for $40 and Todd Clevland went crazy!!!dumping 2-3 laundry size bins of phantoms and hard heads on table staring out at $10 then last 45 minutes $5 then it was get em out of here and my buddy got 6 for $15 total !!!! Hope the stocking fund did well.
It's a good show schedule every year now for me, chicago biggest swap and great food,,Wausau is just plain FUN and location and convenience can't be beat, and Minnesota always has the best deals with Thornes,Reeds,Blue Ribbon and Joe's in competition with each other.
I say let's have a write in campaign for Tony Rizzo for president!!!
Very,very fun show!!!!

Agree with the above comments. In my opinion the most fun show out there. Really like the opportunity to talk to the "little guys". We had a carload of guys that went over from the Twin Cities and we all went over budget but were okay with it. Really enjoyed the seminar speakers as well.

This show keeps getting better. Had a good time this year. Went on Friday this year. Thought we were smart to get there a little before 2:00 only to find I line stretching back to the seminar room. Does anybody know what the free bait for first 200 people was? My best deal was a lightly used depthraider for 10 bucks but I also bought a couple Spanky tails and a Slither spinnerbait. Never did make it to a seminar on Friday but had a good time.

This show is like the guide without the fancy website, a soft spoken attitude, and no loud promise of greatness. He boats four legals for you before lunch, says all the things that make you feel great about yourself. In other words, a pleasant surprise. Three times in a row for me.....I'll be back.

I put the mount on my office wall. Not the best lighting for the pic, but here it is.

Again, a big thanks to Lax Reproductions!!

Took a weekend drive through Wisconsin. Stopped by the expo Saturday morning. Fat bastards were gone so I picked up a cannonball Jr. Also grabbed a shallow invader. Really liked the 13 fishing rods for the price but decided to wait. Thought the toro s was a nice reel for the price also. Bought some raffle tickets for the ranger, wouldn't mind winning that. It was a nice show and enjoyed talking musky fishing. Made it to the musky shop Saturday afternoon and picked up a rippin dawg along with some clothing. They had 15% off storewide. Nice store and nice people. Overall was a nice weekend getaway. Oh I almost forgot about the spotted cow, had to have a few of them. Only wish I could get it in Minnesota.
