Here we go again! The 15th Annual Muskie School will take place on Saturday March 12, 2016 at Waunakee, Wis. High School.

The open Plenary Session hosted by none other than Steve Worrall himself: The Future of Muskie Fishing in 2030! Excellent eye opening topic. Over 30 additional elective classes to be held throughout this fun filled day.

I've been going to this event for quite a few years, and have never been disappointed. The presenters have always been open to and urge you to ask questions (no matter how basic even though it's supposed to be billed as intermediate/advanced), and give you their take on things without ever "talking down" to you. I have yet to hear any of them bad-mouth any other opinions/techniques/anglers, and have all been very classy in their responses. No pimping of personal products (even though they could easily push you in that direction as part of their presentations). If you don't pick something up here, you're just not listening.

If you haven't been to this yet, you should.

If this sounds like a commercial for them, it is not...just my experience. I know none of these people personally, and get nothing for expressing my opinion here.

Thanks to everybody involved that puts this on.

Several inquires on the 3 Reel Repair Classes. All three classes have at least 3-4 openings left! This is a great instructional hands on class if interested.

All classes have plenty of room and are open for registration. One exception: the Bemidji, Minn. area class was canceled yesterday as the instructor had an unforeseen conflict on that date.

Only 12 more days to sign up for the early bird $200 gift card drawing!

Those who sign up by 3/7/16 save $10 on the registration fee.

capitalcitymuskiesinc.org and go to calendar of events for registration forms.

The Wisconsin Musky Expo is a great show! Nice lineup of vendors and speakers.

We were able to signup 3 people for the Muskie School slated for next Saturday March 12 while we were at the Expo. (Capital City Muskies Inc. Booth) Hopefully a few more today.

Monday March 7 and Tuesday March 8 will be the last days to actually send in registration for classes and still get your return confirmation in the mail. I will hold a confirmation letter for you at the Registration table if we get late entries.

We encourage Walkin Registration the day of the School. Be there by 7:30am-7:45am to sign in and be ready for the Opening Plenary Sessions.

This will be a very well attended school.  Open to the Public & Walk-ins are welcome.

The reel repair classes are filled up right now and the Bemidji Class was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.

Just show up this Saturday at the Waunakee High School (South entrance) and come enjoy a full day of intensive muskie technique and training.  This school is designed specifically for the intermediate & advanced musky angler.  We do offer an introductory class for muskie anglers.  You will pick up some new ideas to try for the upcoming muskie season -- which is not that far off!!   The fee is $45 which includes hot coffee & donuts in the a.m. and a tremendous catered lunch & desert plus a full day of classes.  We will have silent auctions and some unbelievable raffle prizes including the "Beast".

See you Saturday!

The 15th Annual Muskie School was a huge success with just over 200 students attending for the sixth straight year!

We would like to thank the 25 instructors for their time and commitment in making this event one of the best of its kind in the country. Our students are demanding that we continue the school each and every year and they return time and again.

Thanks to all,

CCMI Muskie School Committee.

Great class! Had another great experience with all the instructor's. Also got my first look at the new Abu Garcia review beast from Steve. That's one heck of a reel and a couple lucky Ones even got to take a reel home. Lots of great prizes raffled off as well. My two favorite classes this year we're poolside demos by Steve and Lee. IMO two different perspectives on a few things but that's what's great about watching both. The end goal is the same though, getting the fish to eat! I took something away from both classes that will 100% put more fish in my boat this year. Thanks again to all the instructors and sponsors!

O one more thing that I wanted to suggest. A class that's geared around the younger generations. Could be learning to cast, a hands on lure building, leaders something a little more introductory but hands on to keep there attention. Just an idea.

Just wanted to say thank you to Cap City Muskies and all the presenters and sponsors that made this school possible.

Sessions I attended were excellent, lunch was great and a really nice bunch of items for the various raffles and silent auction.

I will be back next year.

Thanks to all.
