Me and a buddy are looking for a good musky/ northern lake. we went up to wawang lake because he has been going there all his life, last summer and it wasn't what we wanted.. very slow. we are hoping to keep it under 1000$$. Just looking for some lake ideas and where to stay, we need to rent a boat up there as well.

$1000 each??? If it's $1000 total let me know where so I can book a trip. If you consider Vermilion, Cabins at Bayview Lodge start at $900 and they will work for you if you don't need a resort where they cater to you. Daisy Bay Resort will have more of a resort feel and is affordable as well. You can rent a boat from vermilionboats.com for around $700, Blaine's a good guy and can get you set up. May not be able to fish Big Bay if the wind is blowing and bring a portable GPS. VDL or Spring Bay will cater to your needs across the board, but don't know if you'll stay under $1000 each there. Unless you do the summer outing at Spring Bay. That's a good time and you'll stay under your budget and have some free dinners and meet some jackwagons from here as well, including this one. Vermilion can be a tough one tho, so it may not be your best choice.

If you're talking $1000 per person for 7 days, you can make that happen at several places on Lake of the Woods, but not everywhere and not with every amenity.

I can't advise you on a lake, but...If your on a budget, save money and camp in a tent...your on the water most of the time anyway. Good luck and have fun!

Tamarack on LOTW can be done in that price range, but not sure how much to rent a boat

There are several places in Ontario where you can get in a great trip for $1000 with a nice boat included. Remember, the prices are always negotiable.
