Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I was speaking to Jerry and Kay Tipping (Guide on Castle Rock) at the Merc National meeting tonight, and he mentioned clients of his catching muskies on Castle Rock this season. Anyone else hear about muskies or have experience catching any there? |

Location: oswego, il | I have heard of them in there and from way back too. I am sure some get in from petenwell and probably some natural reproduction too. |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Steve- I've also heard about walleye guy's seeing them/getting bit off below the dam. Being the upper side of the dam is Petenwell it makes sense some are coming through the flood/pool control gates unscathed. My son also observed the WDNR stocking muskies in Castle Rock last year. They wouldn't provide him w/ any details, i.e., numbers or type of muskie. Just that they were muskies. Location: north central wisconsin | I fish the river extensively(32-37 hours per week). I focus most of my efforts on Petenwell up, but have had action on the Rock', though less than Pete. Definately more boat traffic in summer than Pete, and gets a bit greener, but has better weeds, and a bit less pressure. It should only get better in coming years with stocking efforts by clubs like ours bolstered by DNR efforts. Jason D. Schillinger |
