Location: lawton, ok | I went to Minnesota metro areas June, Pomme Der terre Sept., and West Virginia Nov. this past year and had only one follow during about a 2 week fishing span. Not to mention I live in oklahoma and don't get many opportunities at all :/. I know it's not easy any where and nothing is guaranteed. I'm willing to travel and I am very open and flexible in my quest. I looked at some places in Ontario but there's so many choices and is confusing to say the least. I'm looking for a numbers lake with most fish in the 35-45 range with a potential for a 50. Lots of follows would be awesome, more than anything I want to see fish that isn't pressured to the point that flair off at at the sight of the boat (problem I experienced at Pomme). Im trying to find a happy medium between proven area yet receives limited pressure and harbors a healthy population of Muskie with guides that can put you on the fish. Any suggestions or advise is appreciated.

In no particular order. Choose a lake and then do a search for the guides on here. All of these places will be far superior to the places you went. MO and WV will not hold a candle to these places. Well worth a trip to these waters. |

| LOTW would be my choice!! chance to put a couple fish in the boat per day, and 10 - 20 follows a day are not uncommon at all!! you will see other boats, but mostly in the vast distance, there may be a few community hot spots, but in general the musky are everywhere! I take 1 week a year to LOTW and every time I leave, I realize I have to wait 51 more weeks to come back to God's country!! |

Location: oswego, il | Do you have a boat or are you strictly fishing with a guide? Indian lake chain would get you your action size fish bit no 50. The north Webster Indiana lakes will give you the shot as well. |

Location: Plymouth, MN | Can't argue with what was already suggested. However, you might want to give Jason Hamernick a call and see if he has any openings when he is on Miltona or West Battle here in Minnesota, which is usually late summer and early fall. He will definitely give you a good chance to put multiple fish in the boat.

Location: lawton, ok | I'm going to Minnesota this June to visit the in laws. Does it receive less pressure than the metro city lake such as Minnetonka, White Bear, and Bald Eagle? I will be in the Eagan area for a week so I'm trying to decide weather to make the trip up to lotw or try the metro areas including the St Croix River. Just trying to get the game plan in place and research all avenues.

| If your In the metro in June shoot me an emai then, we can pretty much guarantee showing you fish,,getting them to commit and bite though is never a guarantee,,we can take you out for free if work sced permits,,,,June is best month in metro. I would however strongly suggest hiring Josh Bovorosky for a day or two he always has a pattern in metro that's working. June is a little early for LOTW. |

Location: Central illinois | I would recommend going to Eagle Lake Ontario and staying at Andy Myers Lodge. I took my first trip to Canada this last September and had a great trip. Had a lot of action and caught my personal best 48 incher. The owner Julian Kalka will make sure you have the best trip possible. The guides are incredible! I am a beginner and had a legitimate shot at multiple fish everyday of my trip except for one, and that was due to weather. |

Second this, got some great fish last year from Indiana, seen some 50's showing up as well. We got 3 in the upper 40's.
If you are interested in a guide/accomidations talk to Chae Dolsen from Webster Lake guide service, he has a nice centrally located couple of Cabins ($50 per night) and has never failed to put us on fish and establish the pattern. He also knows the other lakes in the Webster Area very well.

| Probably a lot of people in the metro that would let you hop in with them during that time. Even probably show you the good spots since you're an out of towner. If you stayed around the metro and fished with some locals, you'd probably see some fish and have chances to land a few. As far as guides go, the ones mentioned are good. I've fished with both Josh's and both were good. There's a bunch of others with good reps around here. So some research and I'm sure you'll find enough good info in the metro that you don't have to travel. Like some have said, June is early on LOTW but mid July and later can be awesome. I love it up there and the metro is not even close productivity, type of fishing, etc. but it's a lot cheaper too if you're already here. |

Location: Detroit River | Your best chance for putting a musky in the boat is Lake St. Clair. There's plenty of guides to choose from that will put you on fish. I recommend Jon Bondy but you need to book early as his dates fill up quick. Jason Quintano with Fins n Grins charter or Chris Mahan are others I'd recommend. Whoever you go with make sure that they are fully insured, licensed captains, & Michigan DNR inspected/certified (Ontario MNR if going with a Canadian guide).

Another thing that might be good is contacting the Muskies Inc club in the area you are visiting. They could likely get you in contact with someone that would take you out.
The best option, also the most expensive, would be to go with a good guide as that's likely your best shot at catching fish. I know a lot of anglers on this site are VERY good, but don't over estimate a guide who is on the water every day and knows what baits/locations have been working.

Mike is an extremely informational guide, and puts his clients on hundreds of fish every year. I've spent some time fishing with him and would recommend it to anyone |

If you are looking to Fish East Metro(Bald Eagle, St. Croix, Etc), hire Stevenson.
If you want to check out Minnetonka, hire Borovsky
Both are top notch guides, but they specialize in different waters. |

Location: lawton, ok | Thanks for the input and suggestions. I'm planning to fish lake Fellows this May, and heading to Minnesota and give the metro area a try. Looking at getting one of the guides discussed earlier for a day, and take a few friendly locals up on their offers as well.
