Here''s some of mine.

Flash Earth - Explore lakes (if they are not frozen). Depends on track and date of imaging.

I also use Google Earth and Google maps.

Good resources Al. Thanks for sharing.

One point regarding Flash Earth vs. Google maps. In NW Wisconsin, Flash Earth's images (regardless of the source you choose) are about 5 years older than Google's satellite images. Google's images (in my area, anyway) appear to be from last fall.

i always thought internet tools just watch fishing shows and go to the lakes they see on tv, or go fish the spots they saw a fish one time sure to throw their new show color baits.

Actually, Muskie First is the best source available for finding Muskie info on the web.

Here is another http://www.web2.mnr.gov.on.ca/fish_online/fishing/fishingExplorer_e...

I have every lake book known to man for the Midwest. That includes all the old original fishing hot spots books, mike mladineck(sp) books, obscure one offs, uncle larry's you name it. I have found some pretty good places to fish and some of these books leave no lake behind no matter how small or hard to get to.

I use google maps alot is well.

This video shows how you can take exact coordinates from satellite images and convert them to way points that you can save on your SD card in your GPS Unit. It seems tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can mark exact spot on the spot structure (biggest boulders on a reef, inside turns, etc). It definitely helped me to fish structure much more efficiently.

County GIS web-servers are great tools as well. They often have multiple years of aerials available. As a bonus, you can find hidden public access as well!

I use Navionics almost every time I am about to go fish a new lake or hit a new spot on a lake I have already fished. I also find it to be a huge help in the winter when you don't have all the toys in your boat. Don't live an die by the maps but they sure help you get an idea of where to be.
