Posts: 278 Location: US | Yep looks like a power drive. Model number should be listed on the head near the auto pilot button i believe

Posts: 260 Location: Almost Heaven | What can you tell me about the Power Drive? Is the auto pilot an extra or did most come with that feature? I am suppose to go look at this unit but I want to at least familiarize myself a little. Thanks much

Posts: 298 Location: Not where I want to be! | If it has auto pilot (small button on head) and is 24 volt, it's probably an "AP 70".

Posts: 531 | Like people have said its a power drive, what i see is its the "Old" style lock, I believe they changed the deploy lock when they went to the Digital V2. My guess is its the older analog motor. Check it out further because should you need a pedal it must be analog if infact it is. Not sure but Ipilot may not be compatible.

Posts: 278 Location: US | It looks like a V1. The power drive V1's can use a pedal or co-pilot remote if it has one. I prefer the remote. And as mentioned above, they are not compatible with Ipilot, for that you would need to go to a power drive V2. That being said, i have a Power drive V1 with co-pilot on my 18' fisher and like it. The autopilot feature works off of magnetic north i believe and works pretty good in calm to moderate choppy water.

Posts: 260 Location: Almost Heaven | Update: I went and looked at the trolling motor and you guys are right. It is a Power Drive 54" shaft. It has the Autopilot button and says PDAP 70 lb. on the head. What can you tell me about this unit and how they work and possibly what years this one covers. My experience with Minnkota is limited to the no frills type. Thanks

Posts: 323 Location: Elk River, MN | In my opinion overall they're awesome. the Autopilot can sometimes be tricky if its wavy, but that's to be expected. Like said before, you can add the co-pilot feature which gives you a small key fob looking remote. It's not compatible with ipilot, you could replace the control board with a v2 board at some point for around $100 and then you'd be able to upgrade. They stow and deploy really well. For the right price it could be a great deal.
