This is probably a long shot but does St Croix accept rods for warranty servicing at the show?

Not that I've ever heard of or seen. You can ship it for $15 via FedEx through their web site, http://stcroixrods.com/service-warranty/service-warranty-policies/. I've done it several times, just print the label and drop it off at a FedEx site.
